Zebra Grass

(Toledo, OH) I transplanted a four-foot tall stand of zebra grass today in a small garden I created. The striped blades of grass offer an eye-catching contrast to the dark green leaves of the Asiatic lilies I planted in front of the zebra grass. I made sure to leave an extra 18" on each side of the plant to allow for expansion, as I read that this grass will eventually occupy a space of up to four feet in diameter.

Unfortunately, the lilies have yet to bloom, so I will post a followup picture when the red flowers blossom.
