Petunias

(Toledo, OH) Sure, they are a dime a dozen, but few annuals offer as much color per plant as the lovely petunia. I have yet to plant any petunias, but a few of my neighbors have some picturesque petunia blossoms.

I enjoy the soft, velvety petals of these flowers, which are surprisingly hardy despite their delicate petals and somewhat floppy stems. They also provide a subdued fragrance, at least when my allergies are not in full force. Now if I could find a way to incorporate them indoors to complement my home theater seating, I would be all set.
