Giant Blue Hosta

Giant Blue Hosta, cultivated in a garden in Toledo, OH; sometimes misspelled Giant Blue Hasta Giant blue hosta known as Blue Angel Hosta; click for larger image

(Toledo, OH) Ths is one "giant" plant that lives up to its billing. From a rhizome and stem set just six inches in length, in one year this giant blue hosta has spread to a circumference of nearly four feet, reaching about two feet in height.

I enjoy planting and splitting hostas, due to their ease of maintenance and the simple beauty they bring to landscaping. I someday hope to line most of my gardens with hostas, which also work well to reduce the amount of weeding a gardener must perform.
